When You Roar
By JackieThe StreetPreacher
God is mighty and powerful, one who roars like a lion and who will not be ignored.
We read in the book of Hosea, chapter 11, verse 10, 'They will follow the Lord; he will roar like a lion. When he roars, his children will come trembling from the west.'
God roars like a lion to remind us that He is in control. He is the one who shakes the foundations of the earth and causes mountains to tremble. He is the one who can bring peace and order to a chaotic and dark world.
Yet, even when God's roar is heard across the land, it is not always easy for us to turn to Him and follow. We are distracted by our own desires and ambitions. We forget the call of God and ignore His voice.
But God is a loving and patient God. He will not give up on us. He will roar like a lion and wait patiently for us to respond.
We read in Isaiah 25:9-10, “At this, my heart will rejoice, and I will be glad. My whole being will rest securely. For You will not abandon my soul to Sheol; You will not let Your faithful one see the Pit.”
God will not abandon us, even when we have forgotten Him. He will roar like a lion and wait patiently for us to turn back to Him. He is the one who can bring us peace and order once again.
Therefore, let us turn to the Lord and return to Him with all our hearts. Let us not be afraid of His roar, but instead, let us find comfort and hope in the sound of His voice.
Let us trust in the Lord and seek Him with all our hearts. Let us remember His call and heed His voice. Let us return to Him and be restored to His favor.
Amen.
